Creative England
Creative England is offering interest free business loans of up to £150,000 to support creative and digital businesses across the English regions.The Creative England Business Loans are for small to medium-sized companies outside of London looking to develop new products, including software, applications and content for Cross Platform TV development; Healthcare; Government Services; Games and Interactive Entertainment; Business To Business; E-Learning and Mobile applications.

West Midlands Interactive Healthcare Fund
Creative England is investing £1 million in digital healthcare innovation. The fund is for small creative and digital businesses (SMEs) with innovative concepts or prototypes using digital technology to improve patient care and health services in areas such as dementia, social care, and cardiovascular and medication management. The first of four programmes to open as part of this fund is the West Midlands Interactive Healthcare Fund, in partnership with Nominet Trust and the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust.

Finance Birmingham
A venture capital company owned by Birmingham City Council invests in both local and national businesses via a range of funds and programmes, operating commercially for a wider social benefit. There are a number of funds available:

  • RGF Growth Fund: Loan or equity investments of up to £1m
  • Mezzanine Loan Fund (MLF): The MLF has up to £56m available for investment in amounts of up to òm
  • Tooling Fund: The £24m Tooling Funding Programme has been created to help toolmakers and component manufacturers fund the design, development and manufacture of tooling or the expansion of tooling capacity.

SME Fast Track
The European Regional Development Fund SME Fast Track programme is providing business development grants of up to £10,000. It is available to businesses in Birmingham and the Black Country.

Midlands Environmental Business Company (MEBC)
The Green Bridge Supply Chain Programme is providing £10-£100K grants for SMEs within the green sector or SMEs who wish to diversify into this sector, or set up within 10 business clusters. The business clusters comprise of, Environment and energy technologies, Automotive, Building technologies, Digital media, Medical technologies, Aerospace, Advanced manufacturing and materials, ICT, Food and drink, and Transport and logistics.

Growth Vouchers Programme
The Growth Vouchers programme provides subsidies up to £2,000 to help businesses get the advice they need to grow. Growth Vouchers can be used to obtain strategic advice on any of the following categories:

  • Managing cash flow, late payments and negotiating finance
  • Developing skills and taking on staff
  • Improving Leadership and Management
