The West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) is organising its first ever conference. This is an important conference for new health tech startups and people already established in health tech. The Health and Wealth Economic Summit will take place over two days at the NEC, and at the Postgraduate Centre, University Hospitals Birmingham.

Day one will enable delegates to learn about:

- The current West Midlands economic landscape
- Gain a greater understanding of the importance of wealth in the healthcare sector
- Exclusively hear a number of stakeholder perspectives, with the opportunity to pose questions to the representatives
- Network with others who have a stake in health provision across the region to build on the West Midlands’ growing reputation for adopting cutting edge technology to create wealth and improve patient care.

Day two will enable clients to learn about:

- The push and pull of health and wealth and the role of the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network
- Health and Wealth – the University Hospitals Birmingham story
- The Employers’ Ownership of Skills pilot
- The role of Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs)
- Driving change at a regional level: the West Midlands approach
- Examining EU funding
- Exploring the potential for the West Midlands region to participate in a healthy living and active ageing knowledge and innovation community (KIC)
