Women's Enterprise
Syedain & Co are developing services to support women’s entrepreneurship who face many unique challenges.
In a report published by the Industrial Society in 2001 it said that Britain’s businesswomen are an under funded minority who compared to their male counterparts have less access to start up capital, less management experience and lack vital business support.
Similar problems were also highlighted in the Science, Engineering, Construction and Technology (SECT) sector.
A report commissioned by the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (UKRC) in July 2007 found that 72% of women did not feel there was enough support for women in SECT enterprise.

Despite these hurdles there has never been a more exciting time for women in business. The global economy is changing radically and women entrepreneurs are influencing the shape of economic globalisation as highlighted by the United Nations:
“The growing economic power and influence of women-owned businesses are changing the shape of the global economy”
Sakiko Fukuda-Parr, director of the UN Development Program’s Human Development
